What Is Paint Correction?

 Exterior Detail

Paint Correction from East Valley Detailing is the process of machine polishing your vehicle's clear coat to remove swirl marks, light scratches, and haze, bringing back the deep, glossy finish your paint had when it was new. Before any polishing begins, the paint is fully prepped with a foam bath, two-bucket wash, heavy clay bar treatment, and iron removal so the surface is completely clean. From there, you can choose between a 1-stage polish, which refines the finish and boosts gloss, or a full 2-stage correction, which starts with a heavy cut to remove major swirls and light scratches, then follows with a medium polish to refine the finish. After a post-correction rinse, a 6-month ceramic sealant is applied to protect the results. The wheels and tires are deep cleaned, wheels touched up with ceramic sealant, door jambs cleaned, windows done in and out, and the tires shined.

When Is Paint Correction Necessary?

 Exterior Detail

If you look at your paint in direct sunlight and see a web of fine circular scratches, that's swirling, and it's one of the clearest signs your vehicle needs paint correction. Other signs include light scratches from car washes, keys, or brushes, a cloudy or hazy look to the finish, and paint that stays dull no matter how often you wash or wax it. Arizona's intense sun and frequent washing to keep up with the dust make these issues especially common in the East Valley. Paint correction is also a smart investment before selling a vehicle, after buying a used car, or any time you want your paint looking its absolute best. For lighter wear, a 1-stage polish may be enough, while heavier swirls and scratches call for the full 2-stage correction.

What Is Required For Paint Correction?

 Exterior Detail

Booking Paint Correction with East Valley Detailing starts with choosing the level your vehicle needs. A 1-stage polish is $500 for coupes and sedans and $550 for trucks and SUVs, each taking about three and a half hours. A full 2-stage correction is $650 for coupes and sedans, taking about five hours, and $700 for trucks and SUVs, taking about six hours. Since it's a longer service, plan for your vehicle to stay accessible for that window, ideally in a garage or shaded spot out of direct sun. If you're not sure which option fits, Anthony can take a look at your paint and recommend the right one. Just mention any gated community or HOA rules when you book. We serve Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale, Ahwatukee, Queen Creek, and San Tan Valley.
